Elmendorf Air Force Base serves as a strategic hub for USAF operations in Alaska with a diverse fleet of aircraft, including the formidable C-17 Globemaster, C-130 Hercules, HC-130 Hercules, and HH-60 Pavehawk helicopters. They play a vital role in providing airlift support, search and rescue missions, and disaster relief operations across the vast Alaskan landscape. With WingLift at their disposal, they efficiently load heavy cargo, including vehicles, machinery, and supplies, onto their C-17 Globemaster and C-130 Hercules aircraft.<\/span><\/p>

The pictures show the loading of a C-17, which operates smoothly due to the ability to connect the tow point to the winch on the aircraft and pull it up. “We adjusted the height of the container as it reached the top of the ramp to lower the front and raise the back to clear the precipice.” – SMSgt Nathan D. Armstrong. Another of their main draws for using WingLift, is the easy movement of 20- and 40-foot shipping containers around the airfield without having to borrow a forklift. He also mentions that even with little training, the system is smooth to use and can be quickly adjusted to move containers.<\/p>

With temperatures ranging from around 25 degrees Celsius to -20 degrees, WingLift’s reliability in extreme environments becomes fundamental. The Alaska team swiftly on and offload, and move around cargo using WingLift, allowing for seamless operations of essential supplies and equipment even in the harshest of conditions.
