Armed Forces Logistics (FMLOG) central warehouse uses WingLift to get right equipment in right place

A fully functioning logistics service is critical for Armed Forces units to complete their missions, making the role of Armed Forces Logistics, (FMLOG), one of the utmost importance.

FMLOG has a wide variety of tasks, including ensuring that the Armed Forces’ transport and communication links function as intended and that their units have the material they need in good condition. FMLOG command is based in Stockholm, but the service is present at a variety of sites throughout Sweden.

The concept in which the Armed Forces central warehouse in Arboga is part is aimed at increasing the availability and delivery of supplies and equipment within the Armed Forces. The concept includes both new system support and new approaches throughout the chain from supplier to end-users at federations around the country. In a 45,000 m2 warehouse is stored everything that may be needed in the armed forces. It is where the company’s equipment would be picked up in the event of war. Everything must be in order with the right equipment in place. In this situation, WingLift plays an important role.

Outside the warehouse, 300 containers are installed. They are connected with hoses, which in turn go to large ventilation units. “It’s important that the air moves a little bit inside. A container may be left for 5-10 years, and then there is a risk that they may mold”, says Andreas Folkesson. He receives containers that come to the warehouse. They can be both newly-produced and also ones which have been on assignments, for example in Afghanistan. They have different functions. There are containers that are showers and toilets, others are refrigerators, freezers, saunas or healthcare facilities. So they can be used for anything.
